A few reasons to see your dermatologist – Indian weather is such that we end up developing a skin condition every other day. At times, certain conditions can be treated easily at home, but for some, you need to visit a dermatologist. You can effectively manage skin conditions such as pimples, suntan, etc. at home. But for some diseases such as deep rashes, pus, small spots due to allergies, etc. are certain skin conditions that prompt you to visit the dermatologist immediately. Dermatologists are those doctors who specialize in taking care of your skin or hair-related issues and curing them fully.

Following are a few reasons to see your dermatologist:

  • Eczema

It is a skin condition in which the skin swells up due to a specific reason. It can be chronic at times. If left unattended, it can result in red and itchy skin leaving it dry. There can also be rashes that leaks. If you spot anything as such affecting your skin, pay a visit to your dermatologist immediately. They will conduct tests and recommend certain medicines to cure it quickly.

  • Psoriasis

This condition occurs when there is a particular problem in your immune system. Then with high speed, skin cells start coming up, and they show up on your skin. These are called plaques. They are light red and cause rashes and sometimes irritating pains also. Mostly they occur on elbows, legs, scalp, between feet fingers, etc. In some instances, they start appearing on the inner lines of the mouth also. If you spot sure signs, visit the dermatologist. They would prescribe you creams to treat it.

  • Varicose veins

At times, due to specific reasons, the veins found on the skin get damaged or become weak. Due to this, the veins start swelling or get twisted.  Further, the swelling begins showing up on the skin which can look ugly. They may be painful at times. If you ignore the pain and leave it untreated, then there are chances you may develop blood clotting in the veins that can cause further agony. So, when you spot red or blue lines appearing on your skin areas, visit your dermatologist. They identify it and give you the injection and other kinds of treatments to heal it.

  • Acne

It is the most common skin condition in our country. They occur mainly due to irregular lifestyles. They go on to leave a number of blemishes on our faces. It can happen in the forms of pimples, whiteheads, cysts, etc. When you do not clean your face regularly, the oil glands present in the skin produce the oily hormone in an excess amount which is called sebum. Apart from faces, they occur on the neck, shoulders, back, etc. Although acne is not a life-threatening condition, there can be rashes at times. If left untreated for a long time, it could leave permanent scars. Therefore, a dermatologist may determine the overall cause and treat it accordingly.

Although these conditions may sound smaller, if you ignore them they can take the form of life-threatening diseases like skin cancer also. So, it is better that if you see any skin condition, you consult your skin doctor, i.e. dermatologist from time to time.
